Our Marian Shrine

Our Queen is back where she should be. Our Marian Shrine has been in the process the last few years of being refurbished and she is now complete. Whether viewed in daylight or moonlight, she was dedicated to Our Lady of Fatima on October 7, 1987. Deacon Leo Kester, (Helen Sleeman’s dad), design engineer, along with a parish-wide effort to finance and with service contributions, made this project possible.

We are grateful to the following people who without their gifts of time, talent and treasure, our lady would have fallen in disrepair. Mike Borton, Jack and Marie Czerniawski, John Kehrig, Jim Bischoping and Denny Schultz. Our special gratitude to Dave Rocco, who rebuilt the shrine and to the Boulter Corporation (for the use of their warehouse, and forklift services, while Dave was working on the project).

Please stop and visit our Blessed Mother. We thank Hal and Judy Harris who now take care of the shrubbery and flowers for our Lady’s Shrine. There are benches on either side, (just cleaned by Frank and MaryAnn Spinelli) to sit, pray and reflect, especially during these challenging times. Look especially in the peak to see the beautiful mosaic stained glass that Marie Czerniawski, designed and made. Thank you Marie for your time and talent. One of our parishioners, Tom Neugebauer, who took care of our lady’s shrine with love and devotion, is smiling down on everyone’s hard work. Blessings to all!
