My dear family of Holy Trinity Church –

May the love and peace of Our Lord Jesus Christ be with you always.

We will start a new month: September. In this month, the Holy Father, Pope Leo will canonize Blesseds Carlo Acutis and Pier Giorgio Frassati on September 7th. Blessed Acutis will be the first millennial saint. He was a teenager who had a wonderful love for the Eucharist. Blessed Frassati is known as the champion of the poor. This Italian man was admired for his deep spirituality, love for the poor and enthusiasm for life. Let us rejoice in this canonization of these two men who always had a special love for God and their neighbors.

This month we will celebrate the feast of The Exaltation Of The Holy Cross on September 14. Colombia has a special tradition on the day of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross which I want to share with you. I will explain in the next bulletin what this tradition is, and how you can participate in it. Let us participate as one family in this wonderful celebration of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross. Remember… All are welcome!

We will start our Religious Education classes in September as well. Catechetical Sunday will be on September 21st. That day, we will bless our catechists and children, who will participate in our programs: Sunday Program, Family Program, First Reconciliation, First Communion, and Confirmation. If you have not registered your children for any of these programs, please contact Neil D’Alessandro at neil.dalessandro@dor.org for Faith Formation programs, and Iván Luqueño-Tlayeca at ivan.luqueno-tlayeca@dor.org for Confirmation program.

Order of Christian Initiation for Adults (OCIA) is a program that educates you and supports you in your journey toward becoming fully Catholic. Even if you are an adult and would like to celebrate your Confirmation, you can join the OCIA. We will begin meeting in September. If you are interested or know someone, who wants to join our faith or complete the Sacraments of Christian Initiation for Adults, contact Mary Kramer at mary.kramer@dor.org.
